Every piece at Ceramics by Nature begins with a quiet moment outdoors — watching the bluebirds land on our backyard feeders, glimpsing hummingbirds dart past my studio window, or observing migrating water birds resting at the retention pond beside our home. These daily encounters with nature shape every vase, mug, pitcher, and platter I create.
Long before moving to Georgia, my love for birds began in India. I made regular trips to the famous Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary — even though it required a 5–6 hour drive. Standing among wetlands filled with migratory birds, I felt deeply connected to the natural rhythms of the world. That experience stayed with me. Today, though the landscapes are different, the feeling remains exactly the same — peaceful observation shaping artistic expression.
Where My Pottery Starts
I work from my home studio in Georgia, where outdoor inspiration is always just a glance away. I shape every form by hand, carving gentle details directly into the clay before painting each piece slowly and intentionally. Birds, blossoms, flowing water, and shifting seasonal colors guide my design process.
I don’t rush the work. Nature doesn’t hurry — and handmade pottery shouldn’t either.
Each mug, platter, or vase becomes a canvas where memory and observation blend together: the flutter of wings, the curve of petals, the rhythm of natural lines translated into clay.
From Watching Birds to Painting Them

Whether it’s a bluebird perched on a feeder or a hummingbird hovering near the garden flowers, these moments become design sketches in my mind. I reference native Georgia species alongside the vibrant birdlife I first studied in India — blending influences into pieces that feel timeless rather than tied to a single place.
This global and local inspiration creates pottery that speaks to movement, migration, and connection — themes reflected in migrating water birds that now pause beside our backyard pond throughout the year.
Pottery Meant to Be Used & Loved
My goal is simple:
To create pottery that feels alive — full of color, warmth, and the handmade touch that turns everyday objects into meaningful keepsakes.
Whether purchased as:
- Wedding gifts
- Anniversary keepsakes
- House-warming presents
- Or daily coffee companions
each piece is made to be used, loved, and shared — not tucked away on shelves.
I want your morning mug or dinner platter to quietly remind you of birds on the wing, gardens in bloom, and the beauty found in small daily moments.
